Support Worker – Veterans & Complex Needs (Honiton & Exeter)
Full‑time contract, paying £15.34 per hour, until October 2026. Responsible for a caseload of 5–8 customers, delivering person‑centred support to promote independence across the Honiton and Exeter areas.
Responsibilities
- Provide person‑centred, solution‑focused support to individuals with complex needs.
- Develop, review and update support plans and risk assessments.
- Work closely with external agencies, including mental health services, substance misuse teams, benefits services, landlords and education providers.
- Support customers to access housing, employment, training and other community services.
- Promote independence, wellbeing and positive outcomes for every individual.
- Maintain accurate records and contribute to safeguarding best practice.
About You
- Passionate about supporting vulnerable people.
- Experience supporting individuals with a range of complex or vulnerable needs.
- Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage workload.
- Strong problem‑solving skills and confidence to make informed decisions.
- Experience writing records, support plans or action plans.
- Good understanding of safeguarding and risk management.
- Good literacy and numeracy skills.
- Desirable: Experience within housing support or homelessness services.
- Desirable: Knowledge of benefits, employment or education support.
- Desirable: NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in a relevant subject.
- Desirable: Previous experience working with vulnerable adults.
- Desirable: Safeguarding qualifications.
Working Hours
30 hours per week (Monday to Friday, plus one Saturday in every six).
Additional Information
- Temporary contract until the end of October 2026.
- Enhanced DBS required.
- Based from Honiton with travel across Honiton and Exeter.
