Mental Health Support Assistant – Wantage

An excellent opportunity has become available for a mental health support assistant, supporting SEN children in a school in Wantage. They are currently looking for a mental health support assistant to join them ASAP. As a mental health assistant you will directly be involved in helping children manage and cope with their emotions and mental health.
Responsibilities
- Provide support to students with challenging mental health (e.g., anxiety, depression, mood disorders, ADHD, PTSD) to help them settle into routines and minimise triggering situations.
- Create a positive and safe learning environment that supports the emotional well-being of pupils.
- Assist and shadow other professionals to gain experience in the sector.
Qualifications
- Experience working with vulnerable children or young people is preferred.
- Any education, psychology or therapy background is advantageous, but graduates will be considered.
- This role is suitable for aspiring psychologists, teachers or therapists.

- Salary: £83 – £100 per day (depending on experience)
