Job Overview

We’re looking for a motivated and organised individual to join our Emergency Operations Centre (EOC) as a Dispatch Support Assistant (Band 3). Working alongside Dispatch Teams, you will support the coordination of emergency resources across the South East, ensuring safe and effective care.

Location & Remuneration

Base: Crawley EOC

Hours: Full‑time / Part‑time

Salary: £25,760 – £27,476 per annum (NHS Agenda for Change + Unsocial hours enhancements)

Key Responsibilities

  • Supporting booking on and off operational crews within the Computer‑Aided Dispatch (CAD) system.
  • Maintaining accurate resource availability and out‑of‑service information.
  • Communicating with frontline staff, voluntary responders and partner agencies via telephone and radio.
  • Allocating resources to specific incidents when directed by a Resource Dispatcher.
  • Escalating welfare, staffing or resource concerns appropriately.
  • Maintaining accurate records across a range of operational systems.
  • Working collaboratively with colleagues across the Emergency Operations Centre to support safe and effective patient care.

Additional Information

Applicants new to NHS will be placed at the bottom of the band unless relevant NHS or equivalent experience is demonstrated.

All positions are subject to a DBS check (basic, standard or enhanced depending on the role).

Patients‑facing positions require SARS‑CoV‑2 vaccination unless medically exempt.
