Learning Support Assistant
Location: Newcastle and Stafford Hours: Full-time and Part-time positions available (1× 18 hours per week) Salary: £25,021 – £26,560 pro rata per annum (actual £10,089 – £10,709 for part‑time) Term‑time only working: 37 weeks per year
In this role you will primarily be responsible for the care and education of students with disabilities or learning difficulties. Working under the direction of the Lead Support Tutor, your duties will include assisting students with their work, preparing rooms, equipment and materials, tracking learner progress and providing general individual assistance (e.g., attending to health, safety, physical and hygiene needs).
Responsibilities
- Assist students in their work and learning tasks
- Prepare and organise learning rooms, equipment and materials
- Track learner progress and maintain records
- Provide individual assistance, including health, safety, physical and hygiene support
Qualifications and Experience
- Level 2 in Literacy and Numeracy (GCSE equivalent) or equivalent
- Relevant experience or qualifications in an education or caring capacity, especially with students or young people with learning difficulties or other disabilities
- Good knowledge of safeguarding and equal opportunities
- Desirable: Level 2 note‑taking qualification or equivalent
