Overview
This role will take the lead on the Castlemilk Community Connections programme, supporting activities including volunteering, community events, community meals, community garden and composting, Health Issues in the Community Course, Conversation Cafe, participatory budgeting, and supporting the wider work of the Community team.
Responsibilities
- Lead on the Castlemilk Community Connections programme and coordinate activities across volunteering, events, meals, garden and composting, health-related courses, conversation sessions, and participatory budgeting.
- Support the wider work of the Community team to ensure community voices are at the heart of what is delivered.
- Work with community partners and participants to empower communities to make a meaningful difference in their local area, strengthening social cohesion, reducing isolation, and supporting health and wellbeing.
Requirements
- Understanding of community development and a passion for meaningful participation.
- Energy to work in a fast-paced, busy team delivering a range of projects.
- Ability to work across a range of environments, including outdoors, professional meetings, groups, busy events, and with all age groups.
- Ability to be involved in all stages of project development and delivery.
Details
- Hours: 28 hours per week, Part Time (4 days per week), funded by the National Lottery Community Fund.
- Contract: Fixed Term from 1 September 2026 until 31 August 2028.
- Location: Castlemilk area (involves work across various community settings).
- Compliance: This post is subject to a satisfactory PVG check with Disclosure Scotland.
