Main duties of the job
To Participate in the Departments logistics schedule to undertake collections and deliveries of instruments between Trust sites and manage vehicle in line with Trusts’ Transport Handbook

Job responsibilities
To deliver and collect instrumentation between Chorley and Preston hospital.
To ensure that all daily checks are done on the van every day and report any defects immediately to manager.
Involves long hours of driving, lifting and pushing of medical transport trolleys of medical equipment
Person Specification
Qualifications & Education
- Educated to GCSE standard or equivalent
- Ability to Drive
Knowledge & Experience
- Awareness of Health and Safety Issues
- Have a basic knowledge of computer skills
- Numeracy and literacy skills
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Team Player
- Hold a current UK driving licence
- Knowledge of work carried out by Sterile Services
- Previous experience of working in a health care or related setting
- Awareness of Quality Management Systems
- Recent experience of trays and supplimentary instrumentation used in the wards, departments and theatres of LTH
Skills & Abilities
- Good Interpersonal skills
- Experience of working as a team
- Ability to work on own initiative
- Willing to be flexible and adaptable in working practices
- Aware of own training needs and willing to undertake any appropriate training
- Good Manual Dexterity
- Excellent attention to detail
- Ability to stand for long periods
- Have knowledge of roads in local areas
