Overview

Closing date: 22 July 2026. This is a rare opportunity for a compassionate pastoral and inclusion mentor to join our vibrant and welcoming team. In this dynamic role, you will work closely with identified pupils to remove barriers to learning and promote positive engagement with school. You will deliver targeted interventions and provide pastoral support to individuals and small groups, particularly those with additional needs.

Responsibilities

  • Build respectful relationships with individual children, understand what interests and motivates them, and engage them within the school day.
  • Liaise with families where needed to support children in making a happy transition into school in the mornings.
  • Monitor attendance in collaboration with the School Business Officer and Headteacher; report on and deliver the attendance strategy.
  • Support children with learning, communication and language needs, and social, emotional and mental health challenges.
  • Contribute to whole-school approaches that promote wellbeing, resilience, and inclusion.
  • Liaise with the ELSA to monitor the impact of interventions and plan for provision.
  • Understand the relationship and overlap between attendance, inclusion and safeguarding; contribute to safeguarding records and liaise with external agencies including Early Help, Social Services and Inclusion Support.
