Teaching Assistant – Witherslack Group

Salary: Up to £27,528 + excellent benefits.

We are a specialist provider of education and care for children and young people with special educational needs, including Autism Spectrum Disorder and Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support children and young people in learning, developing abilities and raising self‑esteem.
  • Assist teachers and therapists in delivering lessons and interventions.
  • Help create a positive, inclusive learning environment for every pupil.
  • Work closely with therapists and other professionals to meet individual needs.
  • Maintain a resilient and dedicated approach to the challenges of SEND teaching.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Experience working in a classroom or with children with SEND is advantageous; we will provide all relevant training if you do not have it.
  • Genuine passion for supporting children to learn and for supporting individuals with diverse needs.
  • Enthusiasm, a “can‑do” attitude and the ability to work as a team player.
  • Strong communication skills and a genuine interest in building relationships with pupils.
