Facilities Management Caretaker Responsibilities

We have the opportunity for a caretaker to join our team. The Facilities Management Caretaker will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team ensuring that buildings are maintained safely and securely in accordance with Health and Safety requirements. Responsibilities include portering goods and equipment between various BMBC buildings, setting up meeting rooms and events when needed, conducting building walk rounds and performing basic handyman tasks within BMBC buildings as required, and reporting any issues to the FM Helpdesk. Be responsible for the general maintenance both internally and externally of the buildings ensuring it is a safe environment for employees, visitors and contractors. Undertake minor repairs and maintenance to premises and equipment when required in line with Health and Safety requirements. Carry out a number of operational duties in all weathers including litter picking, bin emptying, cleansing all areas associated to the buildings, removal of sharps, fly‑tipping, graffiti, human waste, snow clearance, gardening and weed killing as required.

Qualifications and Requirements

Basic Criminal Record Check required. Must be able to speak English to an appropriate standard. Must provide a reasonable account of any significant periods (6 months or more in the past 3 years) of time living abroad. Must be prepared to start work with all necessary legal documents such as a valid visa. Please note: our organisation does not possess a Home Office license and is unable to provide sponsorship for visa. CVs are not accepted for this role.

Working Arrangements

Shift Work, Monday to Friday. 37 hours per week. Permanent contract.

Salary

£24,796 – £25,185 per annum.
