Relief Security Officer

Job Description

Falck Fire Services UK Ltd is looking for a security officer to perform gatehouse duties, patrols, and client interaction anywhere within our client’s premises. The role requires a smart, alert, and commanding presence at all times.

Main Areas of Responsibility

• Conduct security gatehouse duties, controlling traffic and personnel entering and leaving the site.
• Perform physical security patrols by foot.
• Carry out crime prevention activities such as routine vehicle searches.
• Execute road safety duties.
• Attend to and investigate security intruder and access control alarm activations.
• Provide a visible and commanding security presence at all times at the premises of our clients.
• Greet, assist, and direct members of the public visiting the premises.
• Conduct shift handover procedures at the beginning and end of each shift to ensure all matters of concern or note are passed on for service and incident management continuity.
• Write complete and accurate handover and incident reports and take appropriate action on all reports received during a duty shift.
• Ensure the safety and security of our client’s buildings and assets in accordance with the Site Assignment Instructions.
• Assist with conflict resolution at client premises where there is a potential for conflict.
• Carry out weighbridge duties, including maintaining accurate records where applicable.
• Utilise IT and customer service interface skills.

Key Attributes

• Have the right to work in the UK.
• Valid Front Line SIA Licence.
• Valid Clean Driving Licence.
• Complete health surveillance as required.
• Pass the BS7858 screening and vetting process.
• Hold good customer interface skills and commercial awareness.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Strong team working skills.
• Computer literate with keyboard skills and experience of word‑processing (Microsoft Word).
• Reliable with excellent time‑management skills.
• Available to travel to cover other sites in the region if required.

Recruitment Process

• Stage 1: Competency‑based interview.
• Health surveillance arranged with our Occupational Health provider, including a drug & alcohol test.
