Location: St Elizabeth’s Centre, Much Hadham, Hertfordshire (Just 10 minutes from Bishop’s Stortford and Harlow).
Contract: Permanent, Full Time. Start Date: September 2026 or sooner. Salary: Teachers’ Pay Scale + SEN Allowance (dependent on experience).
St Elizabeth’s Centre is a charity supporting children, young people, and adults with complex needs. We run a specialist School (ages 5‑16) and Sixth Form (ages 16‑19) within 60 acres of beautiful Hertfordshire countryside. The learning environment is highly personalised for pupils with learning difficulties, disabilities, epilepsy, and autism, and focuses on building confidence, independence, employability skills and preparation for adulthood.
We are seeking a creative and committed SEN Teacher to lead a small class group of learners with complex needs, delivering engaging and personalised learning that supports both academic achievement and personal development.
- Lead a small class group of learners with complex needs.
- Plan, deliver and assess engaging, personalised lessons that meet academic and personal development targets.
- Collaborate with specialist and mainstream educators, support staff and families to create a supportive learning environment.
- Promote inclusive education and preparation for adulthood for all pupils.
- Comply with safeguarding, education and SEN regulations and possess an enhanced DBS check (required).
- Work within the school’s values (Aspirational, Collaborative, Joyful, Compassionate).

Head Teacher – St Clare’s, 1st January 2027
St Clare’s is a caring, friendly Catholic school and community where our Catholic Ethos is central. The new Head Teacher will be supported by stakeholders and will work with the Local Governing Body and the Rosary Trust to shape the strategic direction, and will be responsible for day‑to‑day leadership and management of the school.
- Shape and implement the school’s strategic direction in partnership with the Local Governing Body and Rosary Trust.
- Lead the entire school team, encouraging collaboration and high standards.
- Ensure effective day‑to‑day management and operation of the school.
- Maintain a high standard of education and uphold the Catholic ethos of the school.
- Meet all statutory and regulatory duties, including safeguarding, health and safety, and attendance.
- Lead continuous professional development and provide career progression opportunities.
- Recruit, support, and assess staff, ensuring high performance and a positive workplace culture.
- Engage with parents, governors, and the wider community to promote the school’s mission.
Applicants should be experienced Head Teachers, Deputy Head Teachers or Assistant Head Teachers with outstanding leadership experience and a passion for a Catholic school setting.
