Property Litigator (2-5 PQE)

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Property Litigator to join a well-established Dispute Resolution team in Birmingham. This role will suit a Solicitor or Legal Executive with around 2‑5 years’ PQE, although applications are welcomed from candidates outside this range who can demonstrate the relevant experience and expertise.

Role

You will handle a broad range of property litigation matters for both commercial and private clients, working on a varied and interesting caseload. The successful candidate will have experience of contentious landlord and tenant matters, acting for both landlords and tenants in residential and commercial property disputes. The caseload will include boundary disputes, general property litigation, TOLATA claims and professional negligence claims relating to property. Experience in wider commercial litigation would also be advantageous, as there may be opportunities to support the wider litigation team where required.

Responsibilities

  • Manage your own caseload.
  • Advise clients on strategy.
  • Draft legal documentation.
  • Conduct negotiations.
  • Undertake advocacy where appropriate.
  • Provide strong client care and manage expectations throughout matters.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Solicitor or Legal Executive with 2‑5 years’ PQE.
  • Experience of contentious landlord and tenant matters.
  • Experience of boundary disputes, general property litigation, TOLATA claims and professional negligence claims relating to property.
  • Organised, commercially aware, and able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficient in case management systems and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to work to deadlines in a busy environment.
