Fylde Coast Academy Trust (FCAT) was establishedin 2012. Our trust aims to ensure first class learning opportunities for allyoung people across the Fylde Coast and across Lancashire. The trust has grownto include 10 academies with primary, secondary and all through as well as theCentral Services and School Improvement team. Our values of excellence,integrity and resilience guide us to be the best we can be.Learners are at the heart of what we do and their outcomes and successes arewhat drive us.

About Montgomery Academy
Montgomery has been serving it’s community forover 60 years and supported many local residents through the challenges of thepandemic. We have a proud tradition ofboth sporting and academic success and we dominate the local sportingcompetitions. Our standards ofachievement have been improving year on year, including in 2023, and are builton high quality teaching and learning.
At Montgomery Academy we have a reading richcurriculum that blends traditional academic subjects with the vocationalopportunities that Blackpool excels in such as travel, childcare, catering,enterprise and entertainment. Across their five years students study the fullNational Curriculum enriched with community-based opportunities to complementtheir academic education. Excitingly,this year we have broadened even further the curriculum choices for our currentYear 9 students considering their options. We have established links with both Blackpool& Fylde and Myerscough Colleges offering a new range of courses to ourstudents such as Construction, Motor Vehicle Maintenance, Hair & Beauty andAnimal Studies.
We want all students within our MontgomeryFamily to be happy, confident young learners that get the best out of theopportunities that we provide. Therefore, we ask them all to be SMART in boththeir behaviour and attitudes. SMARTstands for Safe, Mature, Ambitious, Respectful and Thoughtful.
Montgomery’s reputation in the communitycontinues to flourish as does demand for places here, though we remaincommitted to improving the provision for our young people even further.
OFSTED rated us ‘Good’ in all areas in May 2024covering Quality of Education, Leadership & Management, Behaviour &Attitudes and Personal Development.
