Training Programme Director – Internal Medical Training (SW London)

Overview

We are looking for an outstanding individual to serve as Training Programme Director for Internal Medical Training in South West London. The role supports the Postgraduate Dean in leading delivery of a wide range of functions within the specialty, aligning with NHS England mandate and Royal College standards.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the specialty’s regional training programme and specialty‑specific matters.
• Address trainee and trainer concerns.
• Recruit for training posts and programmes.
• Manage postgraduate programmes, including assessments, progression, rotations, support and remediation, OOP management, and trainee career support.
• Handle less‑than‑full‑time training, inter‑deanery transfer, academic training and related work‑streams.

Qualifications

• Experienced NHS Consultant with comprehensive knowledge of General Internal Medicine training across the region.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively within a multi‑professional team.
• Commitment to high standards of patient‑centred care and lifelong professional development.

Expected working location: Approximately 40% of your time is expected to be spent in our offices.
