Overview
Finstock Church of England Primary School is a community-focused school seeking a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to work under the instruction and guidance of the class teacher or senior staff. The HLTA will deliver support to individuals or groups to enable them to access learning and maximise their academic, social, and moral development. We provide a broad and balanced curriculum and aim to meet children’s needs while developing their independence and resilience. We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people, and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
All successful candidates are required to have enhanced DBS clearance and will need to undertake the DBS check with our organisation. Other relevant pre-employment checks will be carried out, including references from present and previous employers, a confidential health check, and internet/social media checks. Responsibilities
- Provide targeted support under the direction of the teacher or senior staff to individual pupils or small groups.
- Assist with planning, delivering, and adapting learning activities to meet diverse needs.
- Support the assessment of pupil progress and contribute to feedback to pupils and teachers.
- Promote a positive learning environment, safeguarding, and the wellbeing of pupils.
- Support the development of independence, resilience, and moral education among pupils.
Qualifications and Experience
- Relevant HLTA qualifications or equivalent experience in supporting learning and teaching.
- Ability to work under supervision and deliver structured support to groups or individuals.
- Strong communication, organisational, and collaborative skills.
