The role

We’re looking for an Estate Caretaker who takes pride in looking after neighbourhoods and wants to make a real difference to our communities within the Greater Manchester area. This is a hands‑on, varied role for someone practical, approachable, and proactive.

You’ll be the friendly face on our estates, carrying out minor odd‑job repairs, litter picking and keeping communal areas clean, safe and welcoming.

Additionally you will:

  • Manage and maintain communal bin areas
  • Respond to fly‑tipping incidents
  • Assist with winter gritting to maintain site safety
  • Ensure the safe use, care and security of tools, equipment and vehicles in line with health and safety requirements

Responsibilities

  • Carry out minor odd‑job repairs on the estate
  • Pick litter and clean communal areas
  • Maintain bin areas and respond to fly‑tipping incidents
  • Assist with winter gritting
  • Ensure safe use of tools, equipment and vehicles under health & safety regulations

Qualifications

  • Relevant experience in a similar caretaker or maintenance role
  • Ability to liaise courteously and professionally with colleagues, stakeholders and members of the public
  • Proactive and positive attitudeKnowledge of Health and Safety legislation
  • Working knowledge of the building trade
  • Full UK driving licence
