Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen to appoint a Clerical Assistant/Secretary at Maple Hayes Hall School in Lichfield. The school is a small specialist establishment for pupils aged 7‑17 who have a diagnosis of Dyslexia.
Job Details
- Hours: Monday to Friday 8:15 am – 5:00 pm, plus attendance on Prize‑Giving Day. During school holidays: 9:00 am – 1:00 pm on a shared basis with other office staff.
- Salary: £22,000.00 – £28,000.00 per annum.
- Holiday entitlement: 28 days per annum.
- First Aid duties.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide reception service, both in person and on the telephone.
- Undertake a wide range of administrative tasks as required by the School Manager and Headteacher.
- Word‑process letters, reports, and meeting minutes.
- Manage the EHCP annual review meetings and return updated paperwork within the deadlines set by the Local Authority.
- Send out correspondence and file documents.
- Maintain and update records and administration systems.
- Maintain the student database and attendance registers.
- Take and distribute meeting minutes.
- Liaise with parents, students and outside agencies.
- Organise and prioritise own workload to ensure deadlines are met.
- Work effectively as a member of a team and independently.
- Perform any other duties deemed necessary to assist in the smooth running of the school.
Requirements
- Highly organised and enthusiastic.
- Experience with Microsoft Office; good skills in Excel and Word.
- Knowledge of school compliance desirable; knowledge of SIMS highly beneficial.
