Introduction

We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed Apprentice Teaching Assistant to join Ridgeway Primary Academy. This is an exciting opportunity to earn while you learn, gaining a nationally recognised Level3 Teaching Assistant or Level5 Specialist Teaching Assistant qualification.

What You’ll Do

  • Support teachers with planning, delivering and evaluating learning activities
  • Assist with whole‑class teaching and learning activities
  • Work with individual pupils and small groups
  • Support pupils’ literacy and numeracy development
  • Promote pupils’ confidence, independence and emotional wellbeing
  • Prepare learning resources and classroom displays
  • Support pupils with additional needs and SEND requirements
  • Help maintain a safe, secure and inclusive learning environment
  • Record pupil progress and provide feedback to teaching staff
  • Support positive behaviour and pupil engagement
  • Assist with educational visits and school activities
  • Support wrap‑around care provision when required
  • Undertake lunchtime supervision duties
  • Communicate professionally with staff, parents and carers where appropriate

Training Outcome

Successful completion of the apprenticeship may lead to a permanent Teaching Assistant role and further progression opportunities within Learn Academies Trust, including specialist support roles and higher‑level educational support positions.
