KS3 2:1 Teaching Assistant Birmingham

About the role

Justteachers is recruiting for a compassionate and motivated SEN Support Staff member to join a specialist SEN school in Birmingham. This position involves working on a 1:1 basis with a KS3 learner who requires additional behavioural and emotional support throughout the school day. The school is seeking someone patient, consistent, and committed to helping students succeed, with the role starting after May half term 2026.

Key Responsibilities

• Support a KS3 student with SEN and challenging behaviour on a daily basis
• Help manage classroom behaviour and support learning activities
• Implement personalised support strategies and behaviour plans
• Foster a positive and encouraging learning environment
• Work collaboratively with teaching staff and pastoral teams
• Support the student’s emotional wellbeing and social development

Pre-requisites

• Degree qualification with a minimum 2:1 classification
• Experience in SEN, youth work, education, or care settings desirable
• Strong communication and behaviour management skills
• Patient, empathetic, and resilient nature
• Ability to build rapport with students and staff
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting student welfare
