Painter and Decorator
Location: HMP Exeter, 30 New N Rd, Exeter EX4 4EX
Salary: £30,656.92 per annum
Contract: Permanent, full time, 39 hours per week
Overview
We are seeking a dedicated individual to join our team at HMP Exeter, a Category B Adult Male local prison. As part of the Facilities Maintenance Team, you will help create a safe and nurturing environment for prisoners, staff and visitors, working Monday to Friday as a supportive and driven family.
Responsibilities
As a Painter & Decorator you will work alongside experienced colleagues such as plumbers, electricians, carpenters, cleaners, and administrators to maintain and decorate facility areas throughout the prison. You will prepare surfaces, apply paint and decorative finishes, and support the smooth and safe operation of the premises.
Qualifications
- City & Guilds or NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Painting and Decorating or equivalent, or significant experience in a similar role
- Experience working within a maintenance team
- Honest and reliable character who approaches work with purpose and pace
- Good Health & Safety knowledge
- Excellent organisational, time management and people skills
