Description
V.Ships Leisure is looking for Fitness Coach on behalf of Orient Express Sailing Yachts.
The Fitness Coach is responsible for conducting yoga and sports classes for individuals or groups. Educating guests on the benefits of yoga and sports activities, and promoting a healthy lifestyle. Strong knowledge of various yoga styles, techniques, and poses as well as thorough knowledge of sports equipment use and techniques.
The Fitness Coach must be knowledgeable of all fitness offerings at the spa, hold current certifications, have formal personal training experience. Excellent communication skills are required in order to provide the highest quality environment and instruction that will meet the needs of our guests in the area of health and exercise.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct Yoga, gym, aerobics demonstrations and classes to guests, including demonstrations of how to use gym/fitness equipment
- Assist the Spa Manager and Entertainment Manager in monitoring guests’ reviews (related to well-being and sports), actively making frequent suggestions to aim and implement new ideas to foster guests’ interest and participation
- Maintains a clean, well-organized, fully stocked fitness area
- Develops good relationships with guests to promote the personal training options
- Follows safe work routines at all times and notifies the entertainment manager of any dangerous or unsafe places within their assigned place of duty
- Monitors sports equipment on a regular basis and reports discrepancies to the entertainment manager
- Active participation in onboard training programs
- Additional duties, not mentioned here, will be expected as per management request
Education/Experience/Qualifications:
- Languages: Fluent English.
- Education: High school degree or related. Personal Trainer certification required / BPJEPS(France) / Licence STAPS (France) or International equivalent mandatory.
- Previous professional experience: 3 years as Yoga Instructor or Sports Instructor in a luxury environment
- Shipboard experience: Not required but preferred
