ICT Technician Trainee

Are you passionate about technology and looking to build a career in IT? We have an exciting opportunity for an ICT Technician Trainee to join our Digital, Data and Technology team and gain hands‑on experience while working towards a recognised ICT qualification.

About the Role

As a trainee, you’ll receive structured development, mentoring and practical experience across a range of ICT disciplines including hardware, software, cloud technologies, networking and customer support. As your skills, experience and qualifications develop, you’ll progress through the salary scale towards the full Band G rate and a qualified ICT Technician.

About the Candidate

We’re looking for someone with a genuine enthusiasm for technology and a desire to learn. You may be a school or college leaver, career changer, or someone looking to take the first step into an IT career. You’ll be proactive, customer‑focused and able to communicate effectively with a wide range of people.

You’ll Have

  • A minimum of 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) at Grade 4/C or above, including English and Maths.
  • An interest in IT, digital services, cloud technologies or networking.
  • Good problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • The ability to manage your workload, follow processes and work effectively as part of a team.
  • A commitment to completing a recognised ICT qualification as part of the traineeship programme.
