Job Description:

We are looking to appoint a highly motivated and experienced Teaching Assistant to support pupils with special educational needs at Ormiston Ilkeston Enterprise Academy. The role involves working closely with children who have varying cognitive, social, emotional, and physical challenges, and contributing to their overall well‑being and learning progression.

Responsibilities

  • Support pupils’ cognition and learning, social, emotional and mental health needs.
  • Assist with communication, interaction challenges, and physical and sensory support.
  • Liaise with the Support Centre Manager, SENCO, Pastoral and Teaching Staff to develop and implement individual support plans.
  • Attend relevant meetings and collaborate with specialist outside agencies to provide holistic support.

Qualifications

  • Qualifications or experience in Behaviour Support or Emotional Literacy.
  • Experience working with pupils who have Special Educational Needs and Disabilities.
  • Highly motivated, flexible, and able to work effectively within a team.
