Job Summary

Security Officer based in Manchester, working within a busy, multi‑tenanted commercial environment that requires a strong customer‑service approach and consistent visibility on the floor. The site operates at a fast pace, with a high level of daily footfall, so the role calls for someone confident, proactive, and able to maintain a professional presence while supporting the wider security operation.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct opening and closing procedures of the building, patrolling, reception duties, access control, answering incoming telephone calls, and conducting emergency procedures.
  • Provide high quality guarding and customer service to customers and service users.
  • Maintain a professional presence and visibility on the floor to support the wider security operation.
  • Ensure all visitors and staff are dealt with efficiently, providing exceptional customer service and meeting or exceeding their expectations.
  • Document incidents and shift reports accurately and promptly.

Qualifications

  • SIA Licence (required).
  • Security and customer service experience (required).
  • Minimum of five years of checkable work history.
  • Good command of the English language (written and verbal).
  • First Aid qualification desirable; a CCTV SIA Licence is a bonus.
  • Flexibility to work days, nights, weekends and shift changes as required by operational needs.
  • Ability to travel within London and surrounding areas, including Horsham, Potters Bar, and Crawley.
  • Physically fit, able to stand or walk during the shift and complete internal and external patrols.
  • IT skills to understand and use varied Access Control and CCTV systems and platforms.
  • Proactive, able to think on feet, and exercise command and control while communicating effectively with peers and management.
  • Calm under pressure and confident in dealing with confrontational situations in a professional manner.
  • Ability to understand and follow Corporate Escalation Process, escalating and disseminating information in a timely manner during emergencies or incidents on site.
