Job Summary
Security Officer based in Manchester, working within a busy, multi‑tenanted commercial environment that requires a strong customer‑service approach and consistent visibility on the floor. The site operates at a fast pace, with a high level of daily footfall, so the role calls for someone confident, proactive, and able to maintain a professional presence while supporting the wider security operation.
Responsibilities
- Conduct opening and closing procedures of the building, patrolling, reception duties, access control, answering incoming telephone calls, and conducting emergency procedures.
- Provide high quality guarding and customer service to customers and service users.
- Maintain a professional presence and visibility on the floor to support the wider security operation.
- Ensure all visitors and staff are dealt with efficiently, providing exceptional customer service and meeting or exceeding their expectations.
- Document incidents and shift reports accurately and promptly.
Qualifications
- SIA Licence (required).
- Security and customer service experience (required).
- Minimum of five years of checkable work history.
- Good command of the English language (written and verbal).
- First Aid qualification desirable; a CCTV SIA Licence is a bonus.
- Flexibility to work days, nights, weekends and shift changes as required by operational needs.
- Ability to travel within London and surrounding areas, including Horsham, Potters Bar, and Crawley.
- Physically fit, able to stand or walk during the shift and complete internal and external patrols.
- IT skills to understand and use varied Access Control and CCTV systems and platforms.
- Proactive, able to think on feet, and exercise command and control while communicating effectively with peers and management.
- Calm under pressure and confident in dealing with confrontational situations in a professional manner.
- Ability to understand and follow Corporate Escalation Process, escalating and disseminating information in a timely manner during emergencies or incidents on site.
