Principal Real Time Interconnect Architect

Overview

An outstanding opportunity for a motivated architect to lead the definition and demonstration of Quality of Service (QoS) capabilities across our IP portfolio and systems, spanning smartphones, cars, and datacenters.

Responsibilities

• Specify QoS requirements across the IP portfolio to meet system‑level needs for real‑time predictability, power management, performance, freedom from interference, and noisy‑neighbor service level containment.
• Collaborate with solution architects to distil QoS requirements and define QoS aspects of system architecture that meet those requirements.
• Work with AMBA and other Arm architecture teams to enable future QoS capabilities.
• Define and lead methodologies for demonstrating that QoS architecture meets requirements, both in theory and in real systems.

Qualifications

• Experience building systems with robust QoS capabilities, including hard real‑time requirements.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills with the ability to build consensus across multiple teams.
• Understanding of QoS theory and ability to evaluate alternative approaches.
• Experience with RTL design sufficient to understand the impact on system area, speed, and power of architectural decisions.
• Proficiency in Python or a similar scripting language.
• Self‑motivation to set and achieve goals.

Nice to Have

• Performance modelling experience.
• Systems power‑management experience.
• Experience in systems architecture across client, automotive, and datacenter domains.

Salary Range: £168,300 – £227,700 per year
