Demand in the Aerospace & Defence (A&D) market is high and growing, driven by a strong recovery in commercial aviation and significant increases in global defence spending. This demand is leading to a major push for investment in infrastructure, particularly digital and advanced manufacturing capabilities. Capgemini is hiring in the UK MALS (Manufacturing, Automotive & Life Sciences) market unit for a Defence (A&D) leader. This role will be fundamental in driving forward the digital agenda for our clients and their customers and we are seeking to hire a proven leader to set a visionary direction, maximise the market opportunity, drive the development of the team and deliver for our clients.
Your role and responsibilities
- Help drive our strategy, shape our offers, develop our capability within the A&D segment of the MALS market unit, and lead sales and delivery work with new and existing clients.
- Business development – utilize the organisation’s broader pre-existing relationships and your own network to drive our ambition to treble revenues in the sector over the next two years.
- Define the target strategy and composition of the team, recruit consultants, and mentor team members to ensure their effective development.
- Engage with existing and potential clients, developing relationships with senior members of the A&D sector.
- Drive consulting and technology offerings to new and existing clients, ensuring offerings are relevant and timely, bringing together Capgemini Invent, Applications, Cloud Infrastructure, Business Services, Digital and Engineering portfolios.
- Be an authority and thought leader.
- Ensure effective delivery and timely completion of projects in alignment with commercial goals.
- Externally, bring presence and gravitas to initiate, manage and maintain board/senior management relationships.
- Understand and scope out client challenges and potential solutions, and sell & deliver top-tier consulting and technology‑enabled business transformation work.
Your skills and experience
- Deep Aerospace & Defence sector expertise with experience across one or more parts of the pharma value chain.
- Strong personal skills and the ability to overcome internal barriers through drive, determination and influencing skills.
- A natural ability to work in mixed teams of colleagues and senior executives with outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience building and managing a team, providing direction and helping others to develop.
- Professionalism and flexibility – ability to adjust positively to changing tasks, location shifts, shifting priorities or ambiguity.
- Commitment to own and deliver outstanding work with gravitas to engage effectively with C‑level/CXOs on a peer‑to‑peer basis.
- Experience delivering end‑to‑end P&L – either for an account or for a sector within previous organisations.
Your security clearance
- Developed Vetting (DV)
- Requirement to obtain DV clearance; applicant must have resided continuously within the UK for the last 10 years along with other detailed criteria and requirements.
