Overview
We’re seeking a forward‑thinking Medical Director for Mental Health and Learning Disabilities to join our senior Care Group leadership team. You will work closely with the Executive Medical Director, Chief Operating Officer, Service Director, Nurse Director, Psychology Director, and Clinical Directors to oversee a diverse portfolio of services, including primary and secondary mental health care, regional specialist services, and adult learning disability care.
Responsibilities
- Provide strategic and operational leadership for the Care Group, supporting a committed medical workforce.
- Enhance recruitment and retention to build a modern, multidisciplinary team aligned with the Welsh Government’s Mental Health and Wellbeing Strategy 2025–2035.
- Improve and transform all aspects of quality and performance, including clinical activity, financial management, strategy, and business development.
- Promote a ‘one CTM’ approach, working with and across Care Groups, specialities, and partners to implement national, regional, and local strategies.
- Oversee integrated and transformational service change to benefit the entire Cwm Taf Morgannwg region, ensuring quality, improved patient experience, and equitable access to services.
- Support relocation for suitable applicants through a relocation support package.
Qualifications
Welsh and English speakers are welcome to apply. Senior clinical experience and proven leadership in mental health or learning disabilities are essential.
