Overview
The Head of Admissions is responsible for the operational management of the admissions function, ensuring a seamless, efficient, and high-quality experience for prospective families from enquiry through assessment to enrolment. The postholder leads a small team comprising the Admissions Registrar and Admissions Administrator, contributing to the development and delivery of the admissions strategy and overseeing day‑to‑day admissions activity.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the admissions team and daily delivery of admissions activities.
- Develop and execute the admissions strategy, utilizing data, reporting, and process improvement to enhance performance.
- Ensure the integrity of suitability assessments, maximise enquiry conversion and support pupil recruitment.
- Identify opportunities for innovation and continuous improvement across the admissions journey.
- Work closely with other school departments to maintain accurate, responsive, compliant processes aligned with recruitment objectives.
- Oversee accurate admissions data management and reporting to support informed decision‑making.
About the Department
The Admissions Department is at the heart of the School’s recruitment and enrolment activity, providing a welcoming and professional service to prospective families. The team manages every stage of the admissions journey – from initial enquiry and school visits through to assessment of need, offers and pupil onboarding. As a key source of recruitment intelligence, the department maintains accurate admissions data and produces reports that support effective resource planning.
Safeguarding
This role is one of regulated activity; the postholder may be expected to come into unsupervised contact with children and young people on campus. The School’s safeguarding policies apply to this position and a full Safer‑Recruitment vetting process is required for any appointee. All adults working within the School must ensure effective safeguarding of children and young people, through adherence to the School’s policies; full training will be provided.
Requirements
Successful candidates will possess relevant experience in admissions management and leadership, strong project management and data analysis skills, and a commitment to safeguarding. This post is subject to an Enhanced DBS clearance and receipt of satisfactory references before a formal job offer is confirmed.
