Job Description:

Salary: £30,000 – 50,000 per year

Requirements:

  • Proven software engineering experience (5+ years)
  • Strong server-side skills in ColdFusion, PHP, Java, or similar
  • Solid front-end fundamentals: HTML, CSS, JavaScript
  • Experience with relational databases (MySQL, MS SQL)
  • Proficiency in version control systems (Git, Subversion)
  • Excellent stakeholder communication skills to collaborate with both technical and business teams
  • Nice to have:
  • Experience with Neptune
  • Familiarity with front-end frameworks (React, Vue, Angular, jQuery)
  • Knowledge of server-side frameworks (Laravel, ColdBox)
  • Experience with web services and API integration (REST, SOAP, JSON)
  • Familiarity with CSS frameworks (Bootstrap, Tailwind)

Responsibilities:

  • In this role, you will be part of a major technical transformation, re-engineering our large-scale e-procurement system from legacy ColdFusion to Neptune, a modern low code/no code platform, as part of an ambitious Back of House program. You will maintain business-critical systems while simultaneously building expertise in next-generation platform technology. Your contribution will be vital in transitioning from reliance on external agencies to a self-sufficient internal team that owns and drives the Neptune platform.
