Job Description:

Technology, Strategy & Advisory, Enterprise Architect Manager – Banking

Location: London, Manchester, Edinburgh

Industry: Financial Services – Banking

Mobility: Up to 100%

Career Level: Manager

Our role goes beyond designing target architectures: we help senior leaders frame complex problems, explore strategic options, and make informed decisions in environments characterised by scale, regulation, legacy technology, and ongoing change. We work closely with executives, engineers, product teams, and third‑party partners to translate evolving business ambitions into coherent architectural direction. This frequently involves navigating ambiguity, challenging established norms, and balancing long‑term vision with near‑term feasibility.

Positioned within Accenture’s Strategy & Advisory practice, this role combines deep industry context with architectural judgement to shape reinvention agendas, guide major investment decisions, and support delivery at pace. Our research‑based advice and situational analyses enable clients to act with speed and confidence.

Your Responsibilities as an Enterprise Architect Manager

  • Shaping enterprise architectural direction in response to business strategy, industry dynamics, and regulatory context, helping clients understand implications, options, and trade‑offs across organisation, applications, data, infrastructure, and operations.
  • Translating complex technology environments into clear architectural roadmaps and value cases that support executive decision‑making and investment prioritisation, applying Lean and Agile enterprise principles to enable incremental and sustainable change.
  • Guiding architectural decisions across multi‑vendor ecosystems, working effectively between business, technology, and third‑party stakeholders to align on key architectural outcomes.
  • Providing enterprise‑level architecture governance that enables delivery and strategic alignment while managing risk, ensuring new initiatives support business objectives without constraining progress.
  • Supporting the definition and evolution of enterprise architecture operating models, including maturity assessments and implementation roadmaps as part of broader transformation programmes.
  • Leading workstreams and small teams, coaching junior architects and taking accountability for outcomes, not just architectural artefacts, within client engagements.

We Are Looking For Individuals Who

  • Have experience operating across all enterprise architecture domains including business, application, data, and technology, within large‑scale, complex transformation programmes, ideally in the Banking sector.
  • Bring strong architectural judgement, enabling them to work across different levels of abstraction, engage credibly with senior stakeholders, and influence key decisions.
  • Are comfortable working in multi‑disciplinary teams and navigating complex stakeholder environments to reach aligned outcomes.
  • Demonstrate the ability to apply emerging technologies, especially in data, AI, cloud and automation, decisively to advance enterprise‑level objectives.

Set Yourself Apart

  • You bring depth of experience in Banking processes and technology landscapes, gained through enterprise or solution architecture roles on complex modernisation or reinvention programmes.
  • You have applied business capability models, process frameworks, maturity assessments, and architectural methods to identify gaps and shape technology‑enabled change.
  • You are familiar with leading enterprise platforms, data architectures, and enterprise architecture tools commonly used in large‑scale transformation initiatives.
  • You offer relevant consulting experience, certifications, or exposure to major initiatives such as application rationalisation, platform transformation, or enterprise data modernisation that strengthens your advisory credibility.

What’s In It For You

In addition to a competitive basic salary, Accenture offers an extensive benefits package that includes 30 days of vacation per year, private medical insurance, and three extra days of leave per year for charitable work of your choice.

Flexibility and mobility are essential as the role requires travel onsite with clients and partners to deliver the first‑class services Accenture is known for.
