Job Description:

Overall role & responsibility

  • Review and approval of new custodian banks and their requirements for information, declarations and reporting.
  • Monitoring of fee charges and payment by policyholders.
  • Monitor timely preparation and delivery of statements to policyholders.
  • Review investment portfolio performance.
  • Review and approve special investment arrangements.

Process

  • Optimise operational performance with continual review of processes, procedures and guidelines.
  • Transition and development of the existing team, moving towards a process-driven organisation.
  • Manage service level agreements.

Coaching and Training

  • Train team members on custodian servicing for all lines of business.

IT

  • Manage and resolve system matters relating to fee generation and position uploads, ensuring the accuracy and completeness of fee charges and portfolio positions.
  • Investigate root causes of system exceptions and errors, working closely with divisional IT team to implement timely fixes.
  • Establish interim workarounds and compensating controls to safeguard data integrity while system issues are being resolved.

Special Investment

  • Perform pre-compliance checks of new portfolio investments in accordance with applicable regulations.
  • Review governing documents such as Policy Directives, Fund Prospectuses and Subscription Agreements, identifying and resolving interpretive issues while ensuring regulatory compliance.
  • Develop a library and expert understanding of a broad range of fund regulatory requirements and provide confident opinion and guidance to Sales, Partners and internal clients.
  • Assess business cases involving Special Investments.
  • Manage the daily investment controls workflow, reviewing eligibility of assets, classifying investments, and creating and maintaining records in accordance with legal regulations.
  • Monitor and review the existing Private Equity book to ensure that due diligence is performed and adequate documentation is obtained.
