Overview

Cambridge (4 or 5 days per week in office)

Talentedge Tech are partnering with an internationally recognised audio business to recruit a Principal Hardware Engineer to join a specialist team developing premium, high-performance audio products for global audiences.

This is a rare opportunity to work on top quality audio electronics, collaborating with a small team of highly experienced engineers responsible for delivering exceptional sound quality and innovative amplifier designs.

Responsibilities

  • Designing and developing high-performance analogue and digital audio hardware
  • Working on analogue amplifier circuitry and system-level audio design
  • PCB design reviews using Altium, with a focus on EMC and low-noise design
  • Hardware debugging, validation and audio performance testing
  • Collaborating with software, mechanical and manufacturing teams throughout product development
  • Driving technical innovation and influencing future product architecture

Qualifications

  • Significant experience designing audio hardware (essential)
  • Strong analogue electronics and amplifier design expertise
  • Experience with high-performance consumer audio systems
  • PCB design and schematic review experience (Altium preferred)
  • Excellent hardware debugging and audio measurement skills
  • LTSpice/PSpice simulation
  • EMC compliance knowledge
  • Experience with Python, LabVIEW or automated test systems
  • Familiarity with I2C, SPI, I2S, USB and other serial interfaces
