We’re partnering with an innovative engineering company developing advanced automated manufacturing technology. They’re looking for a Hardware Engineering Lead to drive the mechanical development of a complex production system as it moves from prototype to scalable manufacture.
This is a hands‑on leadership role, ideal for someone who enjoys solving challenging engineering problems while mentoring a small, talented team.
The Role
You’ll lead the mechanical design and continuous improvement of sophisticated automated machinery, working closely with Electrical, Controls, Software and Manufacturing teams to deliver reliable, production‑ready equipment.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading the design and development of complex automated machinery.
- Designing mechanisms, tooling, fixtures and mechanical assemblies.
- Improving reliability, manufacturability and performance.
- Managing suppliers and supporting product build, testing and deployment.
- Mentoring engineers and driving engineering best practice.
About You
You’ll have experience designing complex automated equipment and taking products through development into production.
You’ll ideally have a background in areas such as:
- Robotics
- Special Purpose Machinery
- Advanced Manufacturing
- Capital Equipment
You’ll also bring:
- Strong mechanical design skills and CAD experience.
- Experience with automation, robotics or motion systems.
- Knowledge of Design for Manufacture and product development.
- Previous technical leadership or mentoring experience.
- A proactive, hands‑on approach within fast‑paced engineering environments.
