Colleague Assurance Manager – Leicester or Bexhill (hybrid). Lead Hastings Direct’s Colleague Assurance capability and drive risk‑based, outcome‑focused assurance across customer‑facing operations.
Role Overview
As the Colleague Assurance Manager you will govern colleague assessment standards, provide credible challenge, and shift the function from activity‑based checking to outcome‑focused assurance within a data‑led framework.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the Colleague Assurance strategy and delivery, setting direction and ensuring assessments are fair, evidence‑based and aligned to our QA framework.
- Drive assurance confidence and risk management through quality standards, consistency, governance and risk escalation.
- Develop assurance capability and standards via accreditation, calibration and capability development to ensure consistent interpretation of QA standards.
- Lead and inspire the Assurance team, building a high‑performing group, making risk‑based prioritisation and resource decisions, and fostering accountability and continuous improvement.
- Embed data‑led, outcome‑focused assurance, shifting from volume‑based checking to analytics‑led, end‑to‑end customer journey assurance.
- Influence quality improvement and senior decision‑making by providing assurance expertise and constructive challenge to governance outcomes and operational improvements.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Strong quality assurance leadership experience in insurance, financial services or a regulated environment.
- In‑depth knowledge of FCA regulation, Consumer Duty and customer outcome‑focused assurance with QA frameworks, governance and assurance methodologies.
- Proven leadership in developing high‑performing teams through coaching, calibration, accreditation and quality governance.
- Strong analytical and risk‑based decision‑making skills, using data and insight to prioritise assurance activity.
- Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills, presenting assurance insight and providing constructive challenge to senior leaders.
- Resilient and adaptable change leader, able to collaborate across multiple functions and drive continuous improvement.
