Job Description:

Responsibilities

  • Gain a deep technical understanding of our products and drive delivery through applying structured methodology and practices (e.g., in planning, requirements analysis, design, coding, unit testing, acceptance testing etc.)
  • Develop project schedules, define timeframes, and prioritise tasks to achieve project targets and deliver intended objectives within the agreed timeframes and ensuring that requirements are completed
  • Track progress against milestones, ensuring quality and manage risks
  • Coordinate bringing together different teams with varied perspectives in a collaborative manner to unblock issues and mitigate risks
  • Keep the senior leadership team informed of progress toward or changes to task timing that impacts the project schedule or customer expectations
  • Lead proactive risk & dependency management, working with the team and your peers to anticipate dependencies, risks and mitigation planning
  • Assess bottlenecks in work processes within teams to streamline and simplify workflow
  • Identify the stakeholders within your programme and create communication plans to ensure they are managed appropriately
  • Manage the customer expectations through regular checkpoints and status updates being transparent and open at all times
  • Provide timely communication to supporting operational teams, senior leadership team and the customer
  • Work closely with senior members of our Engineering team to lead each programme
  • Bring together our multi-disciplinary teams to deliver an excellent customer experience
  • Work in teams across the Toyota Connected ecosystem to deliver flagship products
  • Manage and control programme budgets
  • Provide timely and accurate financial reporting and forecasts
  • When required, assist with presales estimation of effort for new engagements
  • Prepare for and deliver steering committee meetings, weekly status updates and additional ceremonies as required by the programme or customer

Qualifications

  • Experience building clear, concise, and well-structured functional material (e.g., policies & procedures, guidelines, presentations, messages) and recommends improvements to existing material
  • Able to travel to the continent (20% travel)
  • Actively seeks diverse feedback on work and anticipates feedback to address it proactively
  • Communicates a compelling rationale and narrative to peers and customers alike, about the products and services produced by the team
  • Experience of having shaped business cases and delivering tangible benefits to an organisation with the ability to articulate value delivered in a non-technical way
  • Demonstrable experience of running successful programmes – comprised of multiple delivery teams using different development processes, including but not limited to DevOps, Scrum, Kanban and lean development
  • Demonstrates a critical understanding of functional information (e.g., data/metrics and technical information)
  • Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Jira, Trello, MS Project, Asana)
  • Lives within a commutable distance to the office
  • Ability to provide leadership and focus for the delivery teams, building strong capability and creating an environment that supports TCEU’s Vision and Values, whilst encouraging innovation
  • Experience tailoring communications (content focus, style, format, etc.) for different audiences as appropriate
  • Degree level education desired; ideally skilled in a number of Project / Programme Management approaches in addition to Agile, e.g. Prince2, PMP, APM
  • Previous experience managing a data platform or data services is desirable but not essential
