Security Engineer

Salary: £48,000 – 50,000 per year

Requirements

• We require a minimum of 5 years multi-network experience, including hands‑on design and management of secure networks.
• We require experience with Cisco firewalls, routers and switches, as well as Juniper platforms.
• We require experience using security tools such as SIEM, IPS and IDS.
• We require the ability to communicate network security issues clearly to peers and management.
• We require the ability to quickly learn and retain knowledge of bespoke products and satellite services.
• We require strong technical competency and a right‑first‑time, every‑time attitude.
• We require candidates to have or be able to obtain SC Clearance.

Responsibilities

• We act as the key expert in cybersecurity design and management for our company and customers as required.
• We serve as the final point of contact for security issues, including troubleshooting and resolving problems, sometimes to tight timescales.
• We contribute to our incident management scheme.
• We liaise with other departments to ensure full support of networks and share knowledge.
• We develop information security plans and policies within our Security Management and Compliance functions.
• We embed security management plans into operational practice.
• We implement protections and solutions to ensure and enforce information security plans and policies.
• We monitor and collate information from monitoring tools and third parties to provide an accurate view of the current security position of our organisation and customers, including security events, ongoing risks and treatment plans.
