Lead Software Engineer

Salary: £28,000 – 50,000 per year

Requirements

• Strong experience with Python and Django
• Successful applicants must meet eligibility requirements to obtain UK Security Clearance (SC clearance)
• Proven experience in system design and architecture from end to end
• Experience working in agile, multidisciplinary teams
• Experience working in secure or structured environments
• 5+ years of experience, ideally 8-10 years

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and delivery of scalable software systems
• Translate user needs into well-defined technical solutions
• Develop secure, high-quality, test-driven code
• Take ownership of live service performance, ensuring consistency and reliability
• Collaborate closely with developers, business analysts, and UCD specialists
• Work across multiple workstreams and ensure integration across complex systems
• Drive continuous improvement in engineering practices

This is a 12-month contract inside IR35 with hybrid working, based from one of our UK offices in London, Manchester, Birmingham, Cardiff, or the North East, with 60% working from home and 40% onsite.
