We are seeking an experienced and motivated Clinical Nurse Specialist to provide expert leadership within our gynaecology oncology service.
This is an opportunity to shape a high‑quality, patient‑centred service, supporting women across the full cancer pathway from diagnosis through treatment and beyond.
The successful candidate will be a visible clinical leader, working collaboratively within the multidisciplinary team to deliver safe, effective, and evidence‑based care. They will coordinate complex care pathways, provide specialist advice, and play a key role in service development, quality improvement, and innovation.
The role includes leading and supporting a team of CNS and support staff, contributing to workforce development through leadership, education, and clinical supervision. Strong communication skills are essential, along with the ability to manage complex clinical situations and support patients and families with compassion and sensitivity.
Key responsibilities:
- Provide clinical and operational leadership within the gynaecology oncology service, ensuring delivery of high‑quality, patient‑centred care.
- Coordinate complex patient care as a key worker and primary point of contact, working with the multidisciplinary team to ensure seamless care.
- Lead service development, innovation, and continuous quality improvement to enhance patient outcomes.
- Lead on clinical standards, ensuring evidence‑based care and compliance with national guidance.
- Support audit and research activity.
- Mentor, educate, and provide clinical supervision to the CNS team, promoting a culture of excellence, safety, and professional development.
Qualifications & experience:
- Significant experience in cancer nursing, preferably gynaecology oncology.
- Strong leadership skills and a passion for improving patient outcomes and experience.
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex clinical situations and communicate effectively with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
