Our client, a leading consultancy in the civil engineering sector, is currently seeking a Senior Civil Engineer to join their team on a contract basis in one of their offices located in Birmingham, Bristol, or Reading. The role involves taking a leading position in delivering a varied range of schemes including both small highway improvements and large residential and commercial developments.

Key Responsibilities:

Design and deliver access junctions including roundabouts, signalised junctions, ghost-island right turns, and simple priority junctionsWork on a varied portfolio of infrastructure projects ranging from small-scale developments to projects involving up to 5000 residential units with supporting infrastructureProvide technical expertise and support while ensuring designs are compliant with current legislation, best practice, and council policiesMentor junior team members and provide support on project deliveryManage tasks to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget

Job Requirements:

Degree in Civil Engineering or a related qualificationExperience in designing access junctions from concept development through to detailed designStrong knowledge of designing LTN1/20 compliant cycling infrastructure schemesExperience in 3D modelling and drainage design, including delivering Section 278 detailed designsKnowledge of local authority and National Highways processes and requirementsFamiliarity with national design standards and best practice (DMRB, Manual for Streets, LTN1/20, NRSWA)Experience with adoption agreements for roads and drainage, including Section 278, Section 38, and Section 104 agreementsProficient in software packages such as AutoCAD, Civils 3D, Vehicle Tracking, KeyLINES/SIGN/POST, and FlowStrong communication skills and the ability to produce technical reportsAbility to mentor junior staff

Experience in the Following is Beneficial:

Public realm design and active travel/cycling infrastructure improvement schemesMajor highways design and utilities coordinationSite monitoring or supervision rolesProducing fee proposals and bids
