Full-Time, Permanent (37.5 hours per week, part-time considered)
We are currently working with an independent not-for-profit organisation in Cambridge who are seeking a Policy and Research Manager to join their team on a full‑time, hybrid basis. This role sits within the Policy and Engagement team and offers the opportunity to contribute to high‑profile UK and European research and policy projects.
Main Duties
- Managing delivery of policy and research projects from initiation through to completion
- Coordinating contributions to European research consortia and partnerships
- Undertaking evidence‑based research including desk research, surveys and qualitative analysis
- Producing high‑quality reports, briefings and sector resources
- Translating complex research and policy information into clear, practical insights
- Developing and delivering engagement activities such as workshops, events and advisory groups
- Building and maintaining relationships with funders, policymakers and sector stakeholders
- Representing the organisation externally across networks and partnerships
- Supporting the development of funding bids and project proposals
- Ensuring all work is delivered to agreed timelines, budgets and quality standards
Candidate Profile
- Experience working with universities or the research sector in the UK and/or Europe
- A proven track record of managing multiple projects to successful delivery
- Strong qualitative research and analytical skills
- Experience producing written outputs for a range of audiences
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organisational and project management abilities
- Experience building and managing stakeholder relationships
- Confidence representing an organisation externally with partners and stakeholders
- Experience working on Horizon Europe projects or similar programmes
- Experience developing policy briefings, toolkits or sector resources
- Experience contributing to funding bids or research proposals
- Quantitative research skills and familiarity with survey or analysis tools
- Knowledge of European research policy or networks
- Working knowledge of a European language
