We are seeking a Purchasing Manager for our brilliant client based in Diss. We are seeking a keen and enthusiastic person ideally, with previous experience within a similar manufacturing environment. This is a full-time permanent role with working hours of 08:30 – 17:00, Monday – Friday. The Salary offered is £35,000 – £40,000 Depending on experience

The Job
We are seeking a Purchasing Manager to primarily to take responsibility for the day-to-day activities within the department with the goal being to increase efficiency, profitability and customer satisfaction. Duties and responsibilities to include:
- Authorising purchase orders for all glass, aluminium, as well as major electrical, electronic and assembly components
- Work to resolve any disputes relating to supplier invoices
- Take responsibility for the procurement of any other assets as required by the company
- Negotiate and agree pricing contracts for the above items and service contracts (including energy and waste)
- Develop and manage relationships with key suppliers, including site visits, identify potential suppliers and complete supplier appraisal reports
- Manage the approved suppliers list, issuing non-conformance notices where performance or quality falls below acceptable standards
- Analyse procurement statistics and prepare reports to the Ops Director and Board members understand the commercial purchasing marketplace
- Assist with quality checking the glass units as requested by the production department in line with relevant company and industry inspection standards
- Forecast demand for services and products to meet business needs , provide early warnings of stock and component shortfalls caused by external influences and market forces
- Keep on top of stock levels, identifying obsolete and slow moving stock
- Manage regular stock takes reporting findings for the FD
- Heading up a team of 3, ensure all training is assessed and up to date
- Compose, review and improve departmental processes and procedures, including planning and controlling change and guiding staff through the changes
- Management of the glass database updating the manufacturing department with lead times and any issues that may impact the team
- Source any bespoke steel requirements including specialist paint processes

- Previous experience in a similar role in purchasing within manufacturing environment ideally
- Brilliant people management skills
- Excellent communication skills
- The ability to multitask on various duties with everchanging deadlines
