Project Controls Manager (PMCM: Programme Solutions)

As a Project Controls professional you’ll be employed on a range of complex railway and infrastructure projects from initial feasibility through to delivery and operation. You’ll manage technical, commercial, people and other challenges across the project life cycle.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting the Project Controls function on various projects to align with:
    • Schedule Management
    • Cost Management
    • Change Management
    • Risk and Opportunity Management
  • Supporting with the engagement of the supply base on projects and maintaining processes that deliver:
    • Appropriate integration of supplier information
    • Appropriate measurement of suppliers’ progress
    • Timely supply of cost, progress and programming information
  • Provision of technical support and problem solving across the PM&C portfolio with respect to planning and controls.
  • Ensuring best practice project administration is deployed across the PM&C portfolio which delivers close project control and accurate project forecasting.
  • Supporting the optimisation of resource planning to deliver project commitments and technical staff utilisation.

You’ll understand the importance of implementing robust systems and processes to ensure projects deliver value for money and meet client goals, cost and programme targets.

Qualifications

  • Degree in a relevant discipline.
  • Pathway to achieve chartership; approaching Chartered or Chartered Membership of a relevant professional body.
  • Rail, Metro or Transport project delivery experience an advantage.
  • Proven ability to work successfully in multi‑disciplinary teams.
  • Excellent attention to detail for producing, validating and checking reports and data sets.
  • Experience in a consultancy environment with good client relationship management skills.
  • Experience in Power Query / Power BI preferable, alongside established reporting/planning/contract management tools.
