Job Overview
Senior Project Controls Manager – Lead the project controls function on major infrastructure or construction programmes, integrating cost, schedule, risk, change and reporting processes to ensure successful project delivery.
Responsibilities
- Establish and manage the Performance Measurement Baseline (PMB).
- Implement and maintain Earned Value Management (EVM) systems.
- Collate and report KPIs related to time, cost, risk, change and quality.
- Lead periodic and ad‑hoc reporting cycles, ensuring accuracy and robustness of monthly project review packs.
- Provide interpretation of project health data to support decision‑making.
- Develop and implement change control processes and facilitate change forums.
- Integrate risk assessments into project controls.
- Manage and mentor a team of project controls professionals, setting objectives, conducting appraisals and fostering a collaborative culture.
- Liaise with senior leadership, clients and supply chain partners to ensure alignment across planning, cost and risk functions.
- Support programme management with strategic insights.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in project controls on large‑scale infrastructure or construction projects.
- Strong knowledge of cost, schedule, risk and change management.
- Familiarity with NEC contracts and UK construction standards.
- Leadership experience managing cross‑functional teams.
- Proficiency in project controls software (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project, cost tools).
- Professional qualifications (e.g., APM, PMI, or similar) are highly desirable.
- Strategic thinker with analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management.
- Adaptability to fast‑paced and complex project environments.
- Passionate about innovation and continuous improvement.
