Overview

The FINMAR team was established to support the rationalisation and performance improvement of insurers writing specific Financial Lines coverages via WTW’s FINEX Global broking team. Since its launch in GB in 2011, FINMAR has been a global proposition, providing services (data analytics, carrier advocacy, pipeline management and reporting) to the selected insurers and driving competition, performance improvements and improved market intelligence for the benefit of WTW’s clients.

Role

  • Understand all available data and the associated platforms.
  • Develop technical skills and business knowledge to ensure requirements are well understood and solutions are appropriate.
  • Provide support and guidance to the support team to deliver continued improvement to products and services.
  • Ensure the expectations of key stakeholders are well managed.
  • Develop reporting products to meet urgent deadlines or complex activities, and transition them to the support team for ongoing maintenance.
  • Support a variety of IT projects.
  • Employ testing and auditing techniques to retain a high level of data accuracy.

Qualifications

Personal

  • An interest in data manipulation and analysis.
  • Ability to quickly learn business processes and the data sources, inputs and outputs.
  • Problem‑solving skills, methodical and logical thinking.
  • Aptitude for developing good technical skills to quickly and accurately analyse and check data/report outputs.
  • Ability to communicate well to technical and non‑technical people.
  • Attention to detail, with a focus on quality of output.

Technical

  • SQL – strong working knowledge.
  • Excel – strong working knowledge.
  • Databricks – advantageous but not essential.
  • Python – good working knowledge.
  • Power BI / SSIS / SSRS / VBA / DAX – advantageous but not essential.
