Job Description


We are looking for an enthusiastic Software Engineer to work at the forefront of our cloud modernisation within our Credit & Verification Services. This is a hybrid role requiring travel to Nottingham two days a week.


Main Responsibilities



  • Work as a software developer in an agile team to deliver high-quality software solutions within agreed timelines, ensuring alignment with business requirements and agile principles.

  • Translate business requirements to clean, scalable code ensuring minimal defects.

  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional team members to design, develop, test, and release.

  • Follow DevSecOps practices in the development lifecycle to ensure code quality and security while leveraging static code analysis and security scan tools.

  • Provide clear and concise documentation for code, processes, and system architecture to facilitate knowledge sharing and maintainability.


Qualifications



  • Hands‑on experience with .NET 6+ or .NET Core or .NET Framework building scalable, maintainable and performant REST/SOAP/RPC APIs with microservice or SOA architectures using ASP.NET with proficiency in C#.

  • Proven track record of building secure, high-volume transaction web‑based software systems ideally in regulated environments.

  • Proficient in writing high‑quality unit and integration tests using xUnit or NUnit, with hands‑on experience in Test‑Driven Development (TDD) and Behaviour‑Driven Development (BDD).

  • Experience with mocking frameworks to ensure test reliability.

  • Familiarity with clean architecture, SOLID principles, and design patterns.

  • Experience with any NoSQL or SQL databases.

  • Knowledge of containers and Docker.

  • Working knowledge of any source control (e.g. Bitbucket, GitHub, GitLab).

  • Fundamental knowledge of CI & CD.


Useful Skills



  • Working knowledge of using Gen AI tools for coding.

  • Knowledge of Python/Scala or big data frameworks (e.g. Spark).

  • Experience working in an agile team using either Scrum or Kanban.

  • Experience with Domain‑Driven Design, Event‑Driven Architecture.

  • Experience with streaming, messaging, or event bus technologies.

  • Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform or AWS CloudFormation or CDK.

  • Experience with static code quality analysis tools and vulnerability management.
