Salary: £70,000 – 86,000 per year
Requirements
- Demonstrated experience mentoring engineers at all levels and leading technical initiatives
- Extensive experience as a frontend subject matter expert with deep proficiency in React and TypeScript
- Experience with Svelte is a plus
- Proven track record of building and optimising performant, accessible, and responsive web applications
- Strong understanding of data flow through full-stack systems, from API to user interface
- Deep knowledge of UI/UX best practices and creating great user experiences
- Significant familiarity with site reliability engineering principles as they apply to frontend applications
- Strong understanding of modern build tools, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud-based deployment processes
- Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes
- Extensive experience with testing frameworks for frontend and backend, such as Jest, Vitest, React Testing Library, and Cypress
- Strong awareness of security best practices
- A degree in Computer Science or a similar field is preferred
- We are looking for either a senior or staff level engineer
- We are open to hybrid or remote applications from within the UK
Responsibilities
- Act as a technical mentor to other engineers, sharing expertise and guiding best practices for frontend architecture, development, and support
- Balance big-picture vision with hands-on execution and take ownership of projects and initiatives
- Contribute to team discussions, solve complex technical challenges, and identify opportunities to improve our frontend technology stack and engineering practices
- Influence our technical roadmap and architectural decisions
- Design, develop, and support impactful projects
- Ensure seamless user experiences with observability baked in
- Champion a strong product mindset with a keen eye for user experience and system design
- Communicate technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical team members
- Foster effective collaboration between engineering teams and stakeholders, ensuring alignment and seamless handoffs
