We’re looking for a Python Developer with strong analytical and business-facing skills to join our Risk Data Services team. This is a great opportunity to work at the heart of a global investment bank, supporting critical risk systems that drive decision-making across the organisation.
About the Team
You’ll be joining the Data Services team within Risk ERA Systems, responsible for the end-to-end data integration pipeline — from front office systems through to the risk data warehouse. This data directly feeds risk calculations, reporting, and decision-making, making your role central to the organization.
The Role
As part of a dynamic Agile (SAFe) team, you’ll help build and enhance a data integration platform that underpins market and counterparty risk calculations.
You’ll work closely with Risk analysts and Product Owners, translating business requirements into scalable, high-performance Python solutions — so strong business analysis capability is essential alongside your technical skills.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Designing, developing, and maintaining Python-based data processing applications
- Building data pipelines to ingest, transform, and validate large data sets
- Collaborating with business stakeholders to analyse requirements and define technical solutions
- Rapid prototyping to test new concepts and improve delivery speed
- Optimising performance and ensuring reliability of data integration processes
- Working with SQL and data warehouse technologies
- Identifying issues, debugging, and improving system quality
- Supporting continuous improvement within an Agile team
What We’re Looking
- For 2+ years of Python development experience
- Proven ability to work in a business-facing / business analyst capacity (gathering requirements, translating into solutions)
- Object-oriented programming
- Data structures and scalable application design
- Experience with SQL and relational databases
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Exposure to financial services, risk, or data platforms
- Understanding of data pipelines / ETL processes
- Experience with Agile / Scrum environments
- Knowledge of market or counterparty risk
