Position Overview
Supporting and working directly with partners from our Structured & Specialty Finance Group, the (Senior) Associate will play a key role in structuring, negotiating, and documenting Structured Finance transactions. The role involves drafting, negotiation, supervision of junior staff and contributing to business development and cross‑border advising.
Responsibilities
- Draft, review and negotiate financing documents including term sheets, facility agreements, security documents and inter‑creditor agreements for borrowers or lenders.
- Supervise and mentor junior associates, trainees and paralegals; delegate tasks and ensure high‑standard completion.
- Work collaboratively with other practice areas and coordinate local counsel on cross‑border transactions.
- Contribute to business development activities and build relationships with peers, clients, sponsors, lenders and financial intermediaries.
- Manage matters with a disciplined practice: prompt timesheet submission, adherence to firm processes, monitoring WIP against budget and scope, and providing regular updates to the Matter Partner.
Qualifications
- Outstanding academic record.
- Qualified Solicitor in a Common Law jurisdiction.
- 3‑6 PQE and demonstrable experience within a Structured Finance team.
- Proven competence in understanding evolving finance products and the wider asset‑management market.
- Strong drafting and commercial astuteness.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Inquisitive, detail‑oriented and able to work autonomously and collegially.
- Resourceful with strong time‑management skills.
- Willingness to show commitment and engagement to the firm’s culture.
