Application Support Specialist

6 month Contract Inside IR35 – intent to extend or convert to perm

Hybrid – Central London

My client, a leading Financial Services organisation are seeking an Application Support Engineer to join a fast-paced trading technology environment on a contract basis.

This is not a traditional support role. The team sits at the intersection of production support, infrastructure, automation and engineering, supporting critical trading and post-trade paltforms used across global financial markets.

Key Responsibilities

• Support Front-Office and Back-Office trading applications
• Provide 2nd/3rd line support for trading and post-trade applications
• Investigate and resolve production incidents and system issues
• Work very closely with developers, infrastructure teams, and business users
• Perform SQL-based data analysis
• Develop and mainatin scripts using PowerShell or Python

Key Skills Required

• PowerShell or Python scripting experience (essential)
• Background in financial services / trading environments
• Knowledge of Windows and/or Linux systems
• Experience in application or production support roles
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
