Job Description:

Introduction

With 80 million passengers passing through our airport each year, it takes hundreds of systems, platforms and networks to keep our airport running smoothly, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

Job Description

Reporting to the Data & Products Manager within the Process, Change and Readiness (PCR) Team in Development, this managerial role offers an exciting opportunity to help shape Heathrow’s continuous improvement journey through the power of data and analytics. The team’s ambition is to create a culture where every process, system, service and product continually evolves to deliver greater value, and the Data Analyst plays a key role in turning data into actionable insights that help teams understand what is working well today and what can be improved for tomorrow. Working closely with colleagues across PCR, project teams and stakeholders from across the business, you will lead and deliver data and analytics initiatives that enhance efficiency, quality, service and overall value for passengers, stakeholders and employees. In addition to core analytical responsibilities, you will contribute to the delivery of the team’s strategic priorities, with a particular focus on Tools & Standards and the ongoing development of Heathrow’s Process Intelligence capability. Using agile ways of working, you will manage and deliver a diverse range of analytical activities, including requirements gathering, data analysis, visualisation, modelling, KPI development, data mining and storytelling.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver clear analysis and reporting that supports improvement and change activity.
  • Create dashboards and reports that explain trends, risks, and opportunities.
  • Design meaningful metrics, combine and analyse complex datasets, and deliver insightful qualitative and quantitative analysis, including ad‑hoc investigations and deep‑dive reporting.
  • Combine data from multiple sources to produce joined‑up insight.
  • Manage projects from inception to deployment, ensuring timely delivery, effective prioritisation, quality assurance, comprehensive documentation, and knowledge sharing.
  • Present analytical outputs in clear, engaging, and accessible formats, maintaining high standards of data quality, consistency, and usability for stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts, the wider analytics community, and Data & Products teams to identify new technologies, data sources, and best practices.
  • Contribute to the delivery of the Process Improvement and Data Analytics strategy.

Essential Skills

  • Expertise in Data Visualisation and Data Wrangling using analytical tools such as Excel, PowerBI, Databricks to support decision‑making, and performance reporting.
  • Experience in at least one programming language (R or Python), or equivalent advanced data manipulation techniques to analyse, transform, or interrogate data.
  • Ability to work with structured and unstructured data.
  • Self‑starter with the proven track record of delivering highly analytical projects from initiation and requirements capture to delivery and benefits realisation.
  • A demonstrated commitment to quality deliverables with a high attention to detail and ability to solve complex problems – must be comfortable with ambiguity.
  • Excellent communication skills and stakeholder management experience, explaining technical and complex subjects to a non‑technical audience, in clear everyday language considering what is important to the audience.
  • Experience in or desire to learn data modelling, process mining, and simulation (SimPy, DAX, M Language, Power Platform).

Desirable Skills

  • Experience driving process improvement, with a Lean Six Sigma accreditation.
  • Awareness and experience of enterprise‑wide process mapping or process mining.
  • Understanding or willingness to learn the complex airport operation with an appreciation for its interdependencies.
